I’m always amazed that the same people who rant and rave about what they consider “politically correct” nannyism–consumer protections, environmental protection, are the same ones who support government intrusion into our personal lives. I think it’s because they don’t believe these intrusions will affect THEM, only the other guy (or in most cases, girl).

Government should let us grow up

o hear the pundits tell it, there’s a debate raging across America over whether our government is too big.
Apparently, tea party types, mostly oldsters, who wanted Sarah Palin to have access to the nuclear codes, want less government, plus their Social Security and Medicare, and believe “we the people” should put our trust in unregulated capitalism.
BP, Wall Street and the Massey mines thank you.
